A duck from the farms of yesteryears, it is a cross between the Kriaxera hen (local species) and a domestic Muscovy drake. This duck with a docile nature is now seeing a comeback. Reared in pasture lands and fed with corn produced on the farms themselves, this duck acquires a taste and an exquisiteness over its long period of growth (13 to 15 weeks). Despite its local ties, the taste of its flesh and the exquisiteness of its foie gras, few breeders have chosen to rear it. This robust and rustic species offers a thinner skin, less fat and smaller bones for a real treat.
